Piston Pin: Service and Repair

Pistons are available in standard and oversize of .020 inch (.50 mm), .030 inch (.75 mm) and .040 inch (1.00 mm) for all engines except 3E, 3S-FE, 3S-GE, 4A-C, 4A-LC, 4A-GE, 4A-GEC, 4A-GEL, 4A-GELC, 4Y-EC, 7M-GE, 7M-GTE, 22R, 22R-E and 22R-TE engines. On 22R, 22R-E and 22R-TE engines, pistons are available in standard and oversize of .020 inch (.50 mm) and .040 inch (1.00 mm). On 2VZ-FE, 3E, 3VZ-E, 4A-C, 4A-GZE, 4A-LC, 4Y-EC, 7M-GE and 7M-GTE engines, pistons are available in standard and oversize of .020 inch (.50 mm). On 3S-FE, 3S-GE, 3S-GTE, 4A-GE, 4A-GEC, 4A-GEL and 4A-GELC engines, if piston bore is not within specifications, replace piston and/or cylinder block. When assembling piston onto connecting rod, ensure mark on top of piston and mark on connecting rod are on same side, Figs. 125 through 128. When installing piston and connecting rod assembly, ensure mark on top of piston is facing toward front of engine.
