3A-C, 4A-C & 4A-LC

1. Set fast idle cam, then while holding throttle slightly open, close choke valve. While holding choke valve closed, release throttle.
2. Apply vacuum to choke breaker 1st diaphragm, Fig. 16, Then check choke valve angle. On 4A-C and 4A-LC, choke valve angle should be 38°. On 3A-C engines, choke valve angle should be, 38°.
3. If choke valve angle is not set correctly, adjust by bending relief lever, Fig. 17.
4. On all models, apply vacuum to choke breaker 1st and 2nd diaphragm, Fig. 18, Then check choke valve angle. On 4A-C and 4A-LC engines, choke angle should be 55°. On 3A-C engines, choke valve angle should be, 55°.
5. If choke valve angle in step 5 is not set correctly, adjust be turning diaphragm adjusting screw, Fig. 19.
