Cold Start Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal. Disconnect the Cold Start Injector connector.
2. Put a suitable container under the Cold Start Injector to catch any gasoline that escapes.
3. Remove the union bolt and two gaskets from the injector.

Removing Cold Start Injector Delivery Tube:





4. Disconnect the injector fuel tube from the clamp. Remove the two injector mounting bolts.

Removing Cold Start Injector:





5. Remove the Cold Start Injector and gasket.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install a new gasket under the Cold Start Injector.
2. Install the injector and torque the mounting bolts to 4 ft.lbs. (5.4 N-m).
3. Connect the injector fuel tube to the clamp. Install the injector tube with two new gaskets and the union bolt.
4. Torque the union bolt to 13 ft.lbs. (18 N-m). DO NOT overtighten the union bolt.
5. Reconnect Cold Start Injector connector.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.
