Removal and Installation
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.2. Remove front exhaust pipe if necessary, then cotter pins and nuts from tie rod ends, then using suitable puller, separate tie rod ends from steering knuckles.
3. Make alignment marks between universal joint and control valve shaft, then remove universal joint retaining bolts, then universal joint.
4. Remove power steering lines, allow fluid to drain into suitable container. On SV25 models disconnect speedometer cable, then make alignment marks between propeller shaft flange and the intermediate flange, then remove propeller shaft retaining bolts, then propeller shaft. Insert tool 09325-20010 or suitable transmission oil plug.
5. Remove lower crossmember, then engine undercover. On SV25 and VZV models, remove both engine undercovers.
6. Remove center crossmember, then engine rear mount bracket.
7. Jack up the front of the engine, then remove the steering gear housing brackets and grommets, then the steering gear from the vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
