TITLE: 2S-E CYLINDER BLOCK CHANGE


Replacement cylinder blocks for 2S-E engines have been modified.



The cylinder block has new ribs for greater stiffness, and the plugs for the oil cooler (which is not used in the U.S. market) have been eliminated, as shown below.



IMPORTANT SERVICE NOTE:

The new design oil filter (smaller), P/N 90915-03001 MUST, be used with this new block. If the previous design oil filter (larger) P/N 15601-13011 is used, the added rib near the oil filter can interfere with the larger housing and cause a poor seal to the block, which may result in an oil leak.
Both oil filters can be used on previous cylinder blocks. Refer to TSB Vol. 9, Engine # 013 for details of filter change.
