Inspection
1. Remove driven and drive rotor, then the relief valve.2. Inspect relief valve. Replace if worn or damaged.
3. Using a suitable feeler gauge, measure clearance between driven rotor and pump body. Clearance obtained should be .0039-.0069 inch and should not exceed .0118 inch. If not, replace oil pump rotor set and/or pump body.
4. Using a feeler gauge, measure clearance between both rotor tips. Clearance obtained should be .0043-.0094 inch and should not exceed .0138 inch. If not, replace oil pump rotor set.
5. Using a suitable feeler gauge and a flat block, measure side clearance by placing flat block (square edge) across pump body and measuring (using the feeler gauge) between flat edge and top of rotor assembly. Clearance obtained should be .0012-.0035 inch and should not exceed .0059 inch. If not, replace oil pump rotor set and/or pump body assembly.
