Three-way Catalytic Converter:

If exhaust system back-pressure and/or exhaust emission levels are excessive, remove the catalytic converter from the car and make a visual check for plugged, melted or cracked ceramic grid inside. If any of the visible areas are damaged, replace the catalytic converter. The sub three-way catalytic converter is integrated with the main TWC and is inspected in the same manner as the TWC. Fig. 44
