Water Temperature Switches

INSPECT A/C ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SWITCH





1. Disconnect connector of A/C engine coolant temperature switch.
2. Inspect A/C engine coolant temperature switch.

Check the continuity between terminal of the temperature switch and ground.

INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR





Check the sensor resistance (see image for temperature to resistance relation).





NOTE: If there is an open circuit in the sensor, the system will operate at maximum heating.
Conversely, if there is a short in the system, it will operate at maximum cooling.
