Spark Plug: Service and Repair
Intercooler Location:
1. Drain engine cooling system.
Intercooler Air Inlet:
2. Using a clip remover, remove th seven clips and air inlet.
Intercooler Protector:
3. Remove the three bolts and the intercooler protector.
Intercooler Removal:
4. Remove the two intercooler retaining bolts.
5. Disconnect the intercooler from the turbocharger and intake air connector. Remove the intercooler and air connector.
Ignition Wire Removal And Installation:
6. Remove ignition wires from spark plugs.
Spark Plug Removal And Installation:
7. Using a 16 mm spark plug socket, remove spark plugs from cylinder head.
8. Using a suitable gapping tool, adjust spark plug gap.
Spark Plug Gap: 0.031 in (0.8 mm)
9. Apply a light coat of anti-seize compound to threads of spark plugs.
10. Install the intercooler, intercooler protector, and intercooler air inlet.
CAUTION: Do not reuse coolant. Reduction in coolant strength may result in rust occuring. Use a good brand of ethylene-glycol base coolant. Mix coolant according to manufacturer's directions.
11. Fill engine cooling system.
Coolant Capacity: 6.8 Quarts (6.4 Liters)
12. Using a 16 mm spark plug socket, install spark plugs.
Torque Value: 13 ftlb (18 Nm)
13. Reconnect spark plug wires to the appropriate spark plug. Ensure proper firing order.
Firing Order: 1 - 3 - 4 - 2
