Circuit Opening Relay

Circuit Opening Relay:

The Circuit Opening Relay, located in the passenger compartment next to the ECU, directly controls Fuel Pump operation by energizing the Fuel Pump Relay. When the ECU senses ignition signal, it grounds the Circuit Opening Relay and the Fuel Pump operates. When the ignition signal is interrupted, (stall or shut-off), the Circuit Opening Relay opens and the Fuel Pump ceases operation. The Circuit Opening Relay inputs the ECU through terminal FC.
