Tighten/Torque
    Body and Frame
      Check all chassis/body nuts and bolts, torque as necessary.
Adjust
    Valve Clearance
       All except Tercel. Does not include models with hydraulic lifters.
Inspect
    Suspension
      Check ball joints and boots for wear, damage and leakage.
    Steering
      Check linkages for wear and damage. Inspect boots for damage. Inspect steering linkage. Inspect steering gear housing for leaks.
    Restraints and Safety Systems
      Inspect air bag system at 10 years and every 2 years after that.
    Fuel Supply Line
      Inspect fuel lines, hoses and connections. Check for leaks and damage.
    Fuel
      Check vapor vent system and mounting bands. Also check fuel tank cap.
    Fluid - Transfer Case
      Check fluid level and condition. Check for leaks.
    Fluid - M/T
      Check fluid level and condition. Check for leaks.
    Exhaust System
      Check for cracks, corrosion and leakage. Check heat shields for debris.
    Evaporative Emission Control Canister
      Check canister and system function.
    Drum Brake System
      Inspect brake linings and drums.
    Drive Belt
      Check for cracks, wear and fluid contamination. Adjust tension if necessary.
    Disc Brake System
      Inspect brake pads and discs (rotors).
    Constant Velocity Joint Boot
      Check boots for leaks and damage.
    Brake Hose/Line
    Ball Joint
      Inspect ball joints and dust covers (boots).
Replace
    Spark Plug
      Except platinum-tipped. Replace with correct type and gap according to manufacturers specification. Platinum-tipped spark plugs. Replace with correct type and gap according to manufacturers specification.
    Oil Filter, Engine
      Replace every 12 months or 7500 miles.
    Fuel Filler Cap
      Replace cap gasket. Check for filler neck damage.
    Fluid - Differential
      Limited-Slip differentials. Replace fluid and check for leaks.
    Engine Oil
      Replace every 12 months or 7500 miles.
    Air Filter Element
      Extremely dusty conditions may require more frequent service of this component.
Clean/Repack
    Wheel Bearing
      Front bearings on RWD vehicles, rear wheel bearings on Tercel. Clean and repack wheel bearings. Torque to 19-23 ft.lbs. then back off and retighten finger-tight.
