Without Electronically Controlled Transmission
1. Disconnect the TPS connector.2. Using an Ohmmeter and refering to the TPS Resistance Chart, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Testing TPS Resistance:
TPS Resistance Chart:
3. If readings are not as specified, replace the TPS.
4. Construct an angle gauge from a suitable material according to the demensions given in image.
TPS Throttle Angle Gauge:
5. Set the throttle valve angle to 71° and then at 81° from the vertical position (including fully closed angle 6°).
6. Using an Ohmmeter, measure the resistance between each terminal and compare readings with the Resistance Chart.
Testing TPS Throttle Angle:

7. If readings are not as specified, refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES and check TPS adjustment.
8. Reconnect the TPS connector.
