Without Electronically Controlled Transmission

1. Disconnect the TPS connector.
2. Using an Ohmmeter and refering to the TPS Resistance Chart, measure the resistance between the terminals.

Testing TPS Resistance:

TPS Resistance Chart:

3. If readings are not as specified, replace the TPS.
4. Construct an angle gauge from a suitable material according to the demensions given in image.

TPS Throttle Angle Gauge:

5. Set the throttle valve angle to 71° and then at 81° from the vertical position (including fully closed angle 6°).
6. Using an Ohmmeter, measure the resistance between each terminal and compare readings with the Resistance Chart.

7. If readings are not as specified, refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES and check TPS adjustment.
8. Reconnect the TPS connector.
