Air Injection Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve: Testing and Inspection
1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Air Control Valve, located on the front, RH side of the intake plenum.2. Using an Ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Checking ACV For Open Circuit:
3. The resistance should be 27 - 33 Ohms. If not as specified, replace the ACV.
4. Check for continuity between the terminals and ACV housing. There should be NO continuity.
Checking ACV For Short Circuit:
5. Disconnect the vacuum hoses to the ACV and blow air into pipe E. Ensure that NO air flows through pipe F.
Testing ACV Operation - Current Removed:
6. Disconnect the electrical connector to the ACV and apply battery current to the terminals.
7. Check that air does flow through pipe E to pipe F.
Testing ACV Operation - Current Applied:
8. If a problem is found, replace the ACV.
9. Reconnect vacuum lines and connector to the ACV.
