Fuel Pump Relay: Description and Operation
Circuit Opening Relay:
With the absence of an Airflow Meter to control fuel pump operation after start-up, the ECU must keep the circuit open by sending a signal to the Circuit Opening Relay. As long as the ECU senses ignition pulses, the relay will allow current to flow to the fuel pump. The relay, located in the passenger compartment next to the ECU, inputs ground to the ECU through terminal FC.
