CAUTION: Work must be started after approx. 20 seconds or longer from the time the ignition switch is turned to the "LOCK" position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

HINT: The components mentioned can be replaced on the vehicle without any necessity for removal of the transmission. For the respective operating procedures refer to the following pages:

THROTTLE CABLE

REPLACEMENT OF THROTTLE CABLE
For the following steps refer to: Separate Basic Subassembly (Part 1) Separate Basic Subassembly (Part 1)
1. DISCONNECT THROTTLE CABLE FROM ENGINE
2. REMOVE NEUTRAL START SWITCH
3. REMOVE THROTTLE CABLE RETAINING PLATE
4. REMOVE VALVE BODY
5. REMOVE THROTTLE CABLE FROM CASE
6. INSTALL THROTTLE CABLE IN CASE


7. INSTALL VALVE BODY Component Parts Installation (Part 3)


8. IF THROTTLE CABLE IS NEW. STAKE STOPPER ON INNER CABLE




a. Bend the cable so there is a radius of about 200 mm (7.87 in.).




b. Pull the inner cable lightly until a slight resistance is felt, and hold it
c. Stake the stopper 0.8 - 1.5 mm (0.031 - 0.059 in.) from the surface of outer cable as shown.

9. INSTALL THROTTLE CABLE RETAINING PLATE
10. INSTALL NEUTRAL START SWITCH


11. CONNECT THROTTLE CABLE TO ENGINE
12. ADJUST THROTTLE CABLE Preliminary Check
