Cold Start Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal. Disconnect the Cold Start Injector connector.

Removing Cold Start Injector Fuel Pipe And Connector:





2. Put a suitable container under the Cold Start Injector to catch any gasoline that escapes.
3. Remove the two union bolts and the injector pipe with the four gaskets.
4. Remove the two injector mounting bolts.

Removing Cold Start Injector:





5. Remove the Cold Start Injector and gasket.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install a new gasket under the Cold Start Injector.
2. Install the injector and torque the mounting bolts to 6.83 ft.lbs. (9.3 N-m).
3. Install the injector pipe with four new gaskets and two union bolts.
4. Torque the union bolts to 13 ft.lbs. (18 N-m). DO NOT overtighten the union bolts.
5. Reconnect Cold Start Injector connector.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.
