Shift Interlock: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION OF ELECTRIC CONTROL COMPONENTS

1.Inspect shift lock control computer.





Do not disconnect the computer connector. Measure the voltage and continuity between terminals.

2. Inspect shift lock solenoid.
(a) Disconnect the solenoid connector.





(b) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals.

Standard resistance: 28 - 31 Ohms





(c) Apply battery voltage between terminals. Check that an operation noise can be heard from the solenoid.

3. Inspect shift lock control switch.
(a)Disconnect the shift lock control switch connector.








(b) Check whether there is continuity between terminals.
