Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair





REMOVAL OF CONDENSER





1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM





2. REMOVE FOLLOWING PARTS:
(a) Front grille
(b) Hood lock and center brace
(c) Condenser fan motor
(d) Horn
(e) Bumper
(f) Oil cooler (4A-GE engine only)

HINT: Oil cooler hoses are not removed.

3. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE AND DISCHARGE HOSE FROM CONDENSER OUTLET FITTING

HINT: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture out of the system.

4. REMOVE CONDENSER
Remove the two bolts.

INSTALLATION OF CONDENSER

1. INSTALL CONDENSER

2. CONNECT LIQUID TUBE, DISCHARGE HOSE TO CONDENSER

Torque:
Discharge hose 250 kg-cm (18 ft-lb, 25 N-m)
Liquid tube 135 kg-cm (10 ft-lb, 13 N-m)


3. INSTALL FOLLOWING PARTS:
(a) Front grille
(b) Hood lock and center brace
(c) Condenser fan motor
(d) Horn
(e) Bumper
(f) Oil cooler (4A-GE, engine only)

4. IF CONDENSER WAS REPLACED, ADD COMPRESSOR OIL TO COMPRESSOR

Add 40 - 50cc (1.4 - 1.7 fl.oz.)

Compressor oil:
4A-GE E/G DENSOOIL 7 or equivalent
4A-FE E/G DENSOOIL 6, SUNISO No. 5SG or equivalent


5. EVACUATE AIR FROM AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM

6. CHARGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT AND CHECK FOR GAS LEAKAGE

Specified amount: 650 - 750 g (1.4 - 1.7 lb)
