DTC 42
1. Jack-up one rear tire and shift transmission into N range.2. With the ignition turned OFF, unplug the ECU connector.
3. Locate terminal SPD1 on the ECU and connect an Ohmmeter probe between the SPD1 harness terminal and ground.
4. Slowly rotate the raised rear tire and count the deflections of the Ohmmeter.
5. There should be 3 - 4 deflections per revolution of the tire.
6. If not as specified, check wiring to the instrument cluster.
7. If no problem is found, replace the VSS.
8. Reconnect the ECU connnector and lower the vehicle rear tire.
