Cold Start Injector: Service and Repair
REMOVAL:1. Disconnect negative battery terminal. Disconnect the Cold Start Injector connector.
2. Put a suitable container under the Cold Start Injector to catch any gasoline that escapes.
3. Remove the union bolt and the fuel tube with the two gaskets.

4. Remove the two injector mounting bolts.
Removing Cold Start Injector:
5. Remove the Cold Start Injector and gasket.
INSTALLATION:
***UPDATED BY TSB# EN91-006, MAY 24, 1991
1. Install a new gasket under the Cold Start Injector.
2. Install the injector and torque the mounting bolts to 4 ft.lbs. (5.4 N-m).
3. Install the fuel tube with two new gaskets.
4. If installing copper gaskets, torque the union bolt to 13 ft.lbs. (18 N-m). If installing tin plated gaskets, torque the union bolt to 8 ft.lbs. (11 N-m). DO NOT overtighten the union bolts.
5. Reconnect Cold Start Injector connector.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.
