1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel.
2. Remove two clips and E-ring, then disconnect brake line, Fig. 1.
3. Disconnect stabilizer bar link from strut, then, after placing matchmarks on the rotor and axle hub, remove brake rotor and caliper.
4. On models equipped with ABS, disconnect and remove speed sensor from assembly.
5. On all models, remove front axle hub, then dust cover.
6. Remove lower arm from strut.
7. Remove upper strut/spring retaining nuts, then assembly.
8. Attach stand tool No. 09721-00081 to bottom end of strut, then position stand tool flange in a vise.
9. Using suitable spring compressor, compress coil spring, Fig. 2.
10. Using upper seat holder tool No. 09729-22031 to hold upper seat, remove nut at top end of strut, Fig. 3.
11. Remove suspension support, other remaining parts and coil spring from strut.
13. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure that upper seat ``out'' mark faces fender. Tighten to specifications.
