1. Warm up engine.
2. Check idle speed.
3. Maintain engine speed at 3,000 rpm with throttle valve.
4. Pinch the vacuum hose between the dash pot (DP) and the vacuum transmitting valve (VTV). Fig. 20
5. Release the throttle valve and check that the DP is set. Fig. 22

DP Setting Speed: 2,000 rpm

6. If not as specified, adjust with the DP adjusting screw. Fig. 24
7. Check operation of VTV
a. Set the DP speed in the same procedure as above.
b. Release the vacuum hose and check that the engine returns to idle in approx. 1 second.
