Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Using a wrench, slowly loosen the Fuel Pulsation Damper from the fuel rail.

Removing Fuel Presure Pulsation Damper:





3. If the fuel system is still under pressure, take care to prevent personal injury from spraying fuel.
4. Remove the Fuel Pulsation Damper along with the two mounting gaskets.

INSTALLATION:

***UPDATED BY TSB# EN91-006, MAY 24, 1991

1. Install the Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper with new gaskets.
2. If installing copper gaskets, torque the union bolt to 29 ft.lbs. (31 N-m). If installing tin plated gaskets, torque the union bolt to 20 ft.lbs. (26 N-m).
3. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.
