Camshaft Position Sensor Drive Gear

REMOVAL:

Drive Gear Mating Marks:

1. Align the drilled mark on the drive gear with the groove of the housing.

2. Place a matchmark on the camshaft position sensor shaft that aligns with the groove of the housing.

Drive Gear Grinding:

3. Using a grinding wheel, grind the gear and the pin.

CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the camshaft position sensor shaft while grinding.

Drive Gear And Pin Removal:

4. Using a punch and hammer, drive out the pin.

5. Remove and discard the drive gear.

INSTALLATION:

1. Align the matchmark with the groove of the housing.

2. Align the drilled mark on the new drive gear with the groove of the housing.

Drive Gear Pin Peening:

3. Using a punch and hammer, peen both ends of the pin.
