Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes
1. Turn ignition switch to ACC or On position, then wait at least 60 seconds.
2. If airbag warning lamp is always lit, refer to DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS for test procedure.

3. Using diagnostic check wire, tool No. 09843-18020 or equivalent, connect to service connector terminals Tc and E1, Figs. 12 and 13.
4. The airbag warning lamp will flash, on a normal code the light will flash two times per second, Fig. 14.
5. If a malfunction code is indicated, the first digit of the two digit code will flash, then 1.5 seconds will elapse, then the second digit will flash, Fig. 15.
6. If more than one code is stored, 2.5 seconds will elapse, then the second code will appear as described in step 4. Code numbers will be displayed from smallest to largest.
7. After all stored codes have been read, 4.0 seconds will elapse and codes will be repeated.
8. If a diagnostic code is not displayed or is continuously displayed, refer to DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS for Tc terminal circuit testing.
9. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS for code interpretation, noting the following:
a. When the airbag warning light remains lit and the diagnostic code is normal, a source voltage drop is indicated, if the power source voltage returns to normal, after about 10 seconds, then warning lamp will go out.
b. Once a malfunction has been detected, the warning lamp will remain lit until code 41 is cleared, even though the malfunction has been repaired.
c. If a code not listed under DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS is displayed, the center airbag sensor assembly is faulty.
