PARTS MODIFICATIONS:
1. THRUST WASHER
a) Surface Treatment Change
^ The surface of the thrust washer has been changed to a higher friction coefficient.
b) Shape Change
^ To distinguish the new part from the previous part, the new thrust washer has a cut-out as shown.
^ There are no oil grooves on the thrust washer in the outer position.
BACKLASH ADJUSTMENT:
^ For Field Fix, a thinner thrust washer has been provided as a supply part only. Along with this, 5 different thickness shims are available to obtain correct backlash adjustment. (Refer to repair manual for procedure.)
Thrust Washer Thickness:
For outermost position (p/n 41361-14210) 1.7 mm (0.067 in.)
For other positions (p/n 41361-14200) 1.8 mm (0.071 in.)

2. SPRING
Along with the increase in friction coefficient of the thrust washer, the spring has been changed to decrease preload.
Prev. Part New Part
Spring Preload 250 kg. 80 kg.
3. INSTALLATION ORDER OF THRUST WASHER AND CLUTCH PLATE
The installation order of the thrust washers and clutch plates has been changed.
When replacing previous parts with new, the following procedure must be followed:
1. Always replace the thrust washers, clutch plates and spring as a set.
2. Install the thrust washers and clutch plates in the order shown below.
3. Use adjusting shims to adjust the pinion gear backlash to 0.05-0.20 mm (0.0020-0.0079 in.) (Refer to Repair Manual for Procedure.)
