Fuel Shut-off Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect the Fuel-cut Solenoid and unscrew it from the carburetor.
2. Connect battery current to the terminals as shown.

Testing Fuel-Cut Solenoid Operation - Case Grounded:





3. When connection is made, a "click" should be heard and felt as the plunger retracts.
4. If a problem is found, replace the Fuel-cut Solenoid.
5. Connect battery current to terminals as shown and repeat step 3.

Testing Fuel-Cut Solenoid Operation - Harness Grounded:





6. If a problem is found, replace the Fuel-cut Solenoid.
7. Check the O-ring for damage and replace if necessary.
8. Reinstall the valve and reconnect the connector.
