Removal/Installation
1. Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove front wheel and tire assemblies.2. Remove cotter pins and nuts from tie rod ends, then using puller tool No. 09628-62011 or equivalent, separate tie rod ends from steering knuckles.
3. On 1989-90 models, remove charcoal canister from mounting bracket, then remove mounting bracket.
4. On all models, remove four steering column hole cover attaching bolts and the cover.
5. Place installation alignment marks on universal joint to pinion shaft, then remove steering shaft universal joint attaching bolts and the joint.
6. Remove steering gear attaching nuts and bolts, then slide housing to RH side and pull through body panel.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching nuts and bolts specifications.
