Component Test
SYSTEM TEST:1. Connect a tachometer to the engine and start engine.
2. Check that engine runs and idles normally.
3. Raise engine to 3,000 rpm and hold steady. Carefully, press in the tip of the throttle position switch with a screwdriver.

4. The engine rpm should drop slightly. Perform this test quickly to avoid overheating the Catalytic Converter.
5. Release the throttle position switch and check that the engine returns to 3,000 rpm.
6. Allow engine to return to idle and disconnect the Fuel-cut Solenoid connector.

7. The engine should run very rough and eventually stall.
8. If a problem is found, test the Fuel-cut Solenoid.
9. Disconnect the tachometer from the engine.
FUEL-CUT SOLENOID TEST:
1. Disconnect the Fuel-cut Solenoid and unscrew it from the carburetor.
2. Connect battery current to the terminals as shown.
Testing Fuel Cut Solenoid:
3. When connection is made, a "click" should be heard and felt as the plunger retracts.
4. If a problem is found, replace the Fuel-cut Solenoid.
5. Check the O-ring for damage and replace if necessary.
6. Reinstall the valve and reconnect the connector.
