Reassembly and Installation

Carburetor - Exploded View:

REASSEMBLY:

1. Install the vacuum adapter with the three screws.
2. Install TP with two screws and clip.
3. Refer to ADJUSTMENTS and perform the Float Adjustment procedure. After the float is adjusted, return here for further carburetor reassembly procedures.
4. Install the pin clip on the needle valve.

Installing Pin Clip Onto Needle Valve:

5. Place a new air horn gasket and insert the needle valve into the seat.
6. Install the float with the pivot pin after ensuring that the float lip is attached to the needle valve pin.

Installing Float, Needle Valve Assembly And Pin:

7. Install the acceleration pump plunger and boot.
8. Install the acceleration pump damping spring to the float bowl.
9. Install the float bowl, union nipple clamp, solenoid valve clamp, EGR vacuum modulator bracket and number plate with the four mounting screws.
10. Install the acceleration pump arm using the pivot screw.
11. Install the arm clip.
12. Install the suction piston into the carburetor body.
13. Install the spring and suction chamber.
14. Insert the suction pin into the groove on the suction piston.

Installing Suction Chamber Adjusting Pin:

15. Install a new O-ring.
16. Install the plug.
17. Install a new gasket, compensator and throttle position switch wire clamp with the three screws, using the prescribed sequence.

Installing Compensator:

18. If inspection warrants, replace the cold enrichment rod.

Installing Wax Back Springs:

19. Install wax back springs. Ensure that the hooks do not overlap.

Correct Installation Of Wax Back Springs:

20. Install the union nipple with new gaskets.
21. Install the fuel-cut solenoid valve with a new gasket in the carburetor body.
22. Connect the solenoid valve and throttle position switch wire to the clamp.
23. Install the two clamps.
24. Install throttle position switch.
25. Install air cleaner support.
26. Refer to ADJUSTMENTS and perform all the external carburetor adjustments before reinstalling the carburetor on the engine.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install the carburetor heat insulator with new gaskets on the intake manifold.

2. Install the carburetor using the four mounting nuts.
3. Connect the wire connectors.
4. Connect the emission control hoses.
5. Connect the fuel inlet hose to the union pipe.
6. Install the air cleaner on the carburetor.
7. Install the vacuum switching valve with the mounting bolt.
8. Connect the emission control hoses to the air cleaner.
9. Install and tighten the butterfly nut.
10. Connect the air intake hose.
11. Refer to ADJUSTMENTS and perform all the on-vehicle adjustment procedures.
12. Check for fuel and vacuum leaks.
