Throttle Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

1. Remove air cleaner from carburetor.
2. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle valve linkage on carburetor. Disconnect any sheath mounting bolts.
3. Remove end adjustment nut from mounting bracket and remove the sheath from the bracket.
4. Disconnect the cable from the accelerator pedal inside the car and pull the cable and sheath from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION:

1. Insert the cable through the firewall to the inside of the vehicle.
2. Connect the cable to the accelerator pedal.
3. Attach sheath at the mounting bracket on the carburetor base.
4. Connect the cable to the throttle valve linkage.
5. Connect any sheath mounting bolts that were previously disconnected.
6. Adjust cable free play. Refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES for proper procedure.
