Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair
ELECTRIC COOLING FAN
REMOVAL
1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. DISCONNECT UPPER RADIATOR HOSE FROM RADIATOR
3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT
4. REMOVE COOLING FAN
a) Disconnect the cooling fan connector and reservoir hose.
b) Remove the 3 bolts and cooling fan.
DISASSEMBLY
1. REMOVE FAN
Remove the nut and fan.
2. REMOVE FAN MOTOR
Remove the 3 screws and fan motor.
REASSEMBLY
1. INSTALL FAN MOTOR
Install the fan motor with the 3 screws.
Torque: 3.82 Nm (39 kgf-cm, 34 ft. lbs.)
2. INSTALL FAN
Install the fan with the nut.
Torque: 6.18 Nm (63 kgf-cm, 55 inch lbs.)
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL COOLING FAN
a) Install the cooling fan with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 inch lbs.)
b) Connect the cooling fan connector.
2. CONNECT UPPER RADIATOR HOSE TO RADIATOR
3. INSTALL RADIATOR UPPER SUPPORT
4. FILL WITH ENGINE COOLANT
5. START ENGINE AND CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS
