Throttle Body: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. DISCONNECT ACCELERATOR CABLE
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE AND CAP
a. Loosen the 2 air cleaner hose clamp bolts.
b. Disconnect the air cleaner hose from the throttle body, and air cleaner cap.
4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY
a. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
b. Disconnect the IAC valve connector.
c. Disconnect the PCV hose from the throttle body.
d. Disconnect the 2 water bypass hoses.
e. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts, accelerator bracket and throttle body from the intake manifold.
f. Remove the throttle body gasket.
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT THROTTLE VALVE
Check that there is no clearance between the throttle stop screw and throttle lever when the closed throttle position.
2. INSPECT THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between each terminal.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY
a. Install the throttle body and accelerator cable bracket with the bolt and 2 nuts.
Torque: 30 Nm (305 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf)
b. Connect the 2 water bypass hoses to the throttle body.
c. Connect the IAC valve connector.
d. Connect the throttle position sensor connector.
e. Connect the PCV hose to throttle body.
2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE AND CAP
3. FILL RADIATOR WITH ENGINE COOLANT
