Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
NOTICE:
- If the wiring connector of the SRS is disconnected with the ignition switch at ON position, DTCs will be recorded.
- Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new ones.
- Never reuse a front airbag sensor if the airbag has previously deployed in collision.
1. REMOVE FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH
(a) Remove the bolt and air cleaner inlet.
(b) Disconnect the front airbag sensor LH connector.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts and front airbag sensor LH.
2. REMOVE FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR RH
(a) Disconnect the front airbag sensor RH connector.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and front airbag sensor RH.
INSTALLATION
NOTICE:
- Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new ones.
- Never reuse the front airbag sensor involved in collision when the airbag has deployed.
- Make sure the front airbag sensor is installed with the specified torque.
- If the front airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connectol; replace the front airbag sensor with a new one.
- When installing the front airbag sensoi; take care that the airbag wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
- After installing, shake the front airbag sensor to check that there is no looseness.
HINT: Install the front airbag sensor with the arrow on the sensor facing toward the front of the vehicle.
1. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH
(a) Install the front airbag sensor LH with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 17.5 Nm (178 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the front airbag sensor LH connector.
(c) Install the air cleaner inlet with the bolt.
2. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR RH
(a) Install the front airbag sensor RH with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 17.5 Nm (178 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the front airbag sensor RH connector.
3. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (See Air Bag Systems; Testing and Inspection.)
