REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSY

REPLACEMENT




1. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM ASSY
a. Remove the rear wiper arm cover.
b. Remove a nut and rear wiper arm.

2. REMOVE REAR WIPER LINK CAP




3. REMOVE W/WASHER PACKING NUT REAR WIPER LINK PIVOT
a. Using a deep socket wrench (24 mm), remove the w/ washer packing nut rear wiper link pivot.

4. RR WIPER MOTOR COVER




a. Open the back door glass.




b. Using a screwdriver, release the 9 claws and remove the rear wiper motor cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSY
a. Disconnect the 2 rear defogger connectors.




b. Remove the 2 nuts and rear wiper motor & bracket assy with shaft cover assy.

c. Disconnect the connector.
d. Remove a nut and junction switch.




e. Remove the 3 screws and rear wiper motor & bracket assy




f. Remove the 3 bolts and rear wiper motor assy.

6. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET




7. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET
a. Install the rear wiper motor grommet as shown in the illustration.

8. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSY




a. Install the rear wiper motor assy with 3 bolts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)




b. Install the rear wiper motor & bracket with 3 screws.




c. Connect the connector.
d. Install the junction switch with nut.
e. Connect the 2 rear defogger connectors.




f. Install the rear wiper motor & bracket assy with shaft cover assy with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

9. INSTALL W/ WASHER PACKING NUT REAR WIPER LINK PIVOT




a. Using a deep socket wrench (24 mm), install the w/washer packing nut rear wiper link pivot with a nut.

Torque: 1.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf)

10. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM ASSY




a. Scrape off the serration part of the wiper arm with a round file or equivalent.
b. Clean the rear wiper pivot serration with the wire brush.




c. Stop the rear wiper motor assy at the automatic stop position. Install the rear wiper arm at the position as shown in the illustration.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

HINT: Hold down the arm hinge with hand to fasten a nut.

d. Operate the rear wiper while running the water or the washer fluid over the window, and check the wiping condition and that the rear wiper does not hit against the vehicle body.
