Disassembly Procedure
Components
1. Remove Rear Door Inside Handle Bezel.
A. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and remove the bezel.
NOTE:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. Remove Door Pull Handle.
A. Remove the screw and pull handle.
3. Remove Rear Door Armrest Base Panel Upper.
A. Using the taped screwdriver, disengage the 2 clips and 4 claws, and remove the armrest base panel upper.
B. Disconnect the switch connector.
4. Remove Rear Door Trim Board Sub-Assembly.
A. Remove the screw.
B. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 7 clips and remove the trim board.
NOTE:
^ In order to prevent the door panel from being damaged, use protective tape to cover the areas indicated by the arrow marks in the illustration.
^ If the clip cannot be reached with the clip remover, pull on the lower trim to remove it.
5. Remove Rear Door Inside Handle
Sub-assembly.
A. Using a taped screwdriver, disengage the claw (A).
B. Move the inside handle in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration. This will release the claws (B) and allow removal of the inside handle.
C. Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.
6. Remove Rear Door Belt Molding.
A. Put protective tape under the molding.
B. Using a molding remover, pry out the molding.
7. Remove Rear Door Window Frame Molding.
A. Pull back weatherstrip inside top right corner.
B. Remove the screw.
C. Using a heat light, heat the molding.
D. Remove the molding.
NOTE:
When removing the molding, heat the body and molding using a heat light.
Heating temperature:
NOTE:
^ Do not heat the body and molding excessively.
^ If planning to reuse the molding, take care not to damage the molding.
8. Remove Door Frame Garnish.
A. Using a clip remover, disengage the claw and remove the garnish.
9. Remove Rear Door Service Hole Cover.
A. Disconnect power window regulator motor assembly, door lock assembly and speaker.
B. Remove the 2 screws and bracket.
C. Remove the service hole cover.
NOTE:
Remove the remaining tape on the door side.
10. Remove Rear Door Window Guide Sub-assembly Rear.
A. Pull back weatherstrip.
B. Remove the 3 screws (A), bolt and window guide rear with the guide seal.
C. Connect the power window regulator switch.
D. Lower window and peel back window guide channel felt.
E. Remove the screw (B) and rear door guide seal.
11. Remove Rear Door Glass Sub-assembly.
NOTE:
Insert a cushion inside the door panel to prevent the glass from being scratched.
A. Position window so that the 2 window to regulator bolts (see arrows in illustration) are accessible through the door service holes.
B. Remove the 2 bolts and glass.
NOTE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the glass may fall and become damaged.
C. Disconnect the power window regulator switch.
12. Remove Rear Door Weatherstrip.
A. Using a clip remover, disengage the clips and remove the weatherstrip.
NOTE:
If the clips are damaged, replace them with new clips.
13. Remove Blackout Tape No. 2.
A. Using a heat light, heat the tape.
NOTE:
When removing the tape, heat the body and tape using a heat light.
Heating temperature:
NOTE:
Do not heat the body and molding excessively.
B. Remove the tape.
