TSB REVISION NOTICE:

^ November 2, 2006: The OFP in Warranty Information has been updated. Applicable Warranty has been changed to Toyota Federal Emissions Warranty. The note in Parts Information has been expanded. The TIS reference has been upated in step 3 of Repair Procedure 1. Illustrations have been added near the beginning of Repair Procedure 2 to clarify installation of the refueling check valve and the rollover check valve. A note has been added and the illustration has been updated in step 7 of Repair Procedure 2.

Introduction

Some 2004 Prius customers may complain of the following:

^ Fuel gauge is not accurate and/or

^ Fuel tank volume is not close to the stated capacity

An updated Combination Meter Computer and Fuel Filler Pipe have been created to improve this condition.

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Federal Emissions Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date. For California specification vehicles sold, registered, and operated in California, Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont, this repair is covered under the California Emission Warranty, which is 36 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
