On-Vehicle Inspection
INSPECT THROTTLE W/ MOTOR BODY ASSYCheck the operation.
1. Disconnect the throttle control motor connector.
2. Connect the hand held tester to the DLC3.
3. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
4. Turn the hand held tester ON.
5. Select the item: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST / PRIMARY / THROTTLE POS.
6. Operate the link of the throttle with motor body by hand. When the throttle valve is fully opened, check that the value of the THROTTLE POS is within the specification.
Standard: 60 % or more
If the operation is not as specified, check the throttle with motor body, wire harness and ECM.
7. Clear the DTC.
8. Turn the hand held tester OFF.
9. Turn the power switch OFF.
NOTE: Be sure to turn the power switch OFF after clearing the DTC.
10. Connect the throttle control motor connector.
11. Set the vehicle to inspection mode.
12. Turn the power switch ON (READY ON).
13. Warm up the engine.
14. Shift the transaxle position to D position, then check that the engine stops.
HINT:
- Check there is no load from the generator which impacts on the engine running.
- If the engine does not stop, keep the engine running for a while with the transaxle position at P position, then repair step (14).
15. Turn the hand held tester ON.
16. Shift the transaxle position to P position, then start the engine.
17. Select the item: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST / PRIMARY / ENGINE SPD.
18. Check that the engine speed is within the specification.
Standard: 950 to 1,050 rpm
If the engine speed is as specified, leave the engine for 3 minutes and check the engine speed again. If necessary, check the throttle with motor body, wire harness and ECM.
