INTRODUCTION:
Under some circumstances 2004 - 2005 model year Prius vehicles may not "Ready On" or may exhibit a M.I.L. "ON" condition with DTCs P3140, P3141, or P0A0D following a service requiring removal of the HV service plug. This may be due to the last step of the service plug installation procedure not being fully performed.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2004 - 2005 model year Prius vehicles.

SERVICE PLUG INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:






NOTE:
Wear insulating gloves.

1. Insert the service plug into the HV battery. (See illustration below.)
2. While pushing the service plug to the right, rotate the lever up to the vertical position.






3. IMPORTANT: Be sure to slide the lever down to lock the service plug in place (as shown). This completes the circuit for the HV Interlock system.

CAUTION:
Do not operate the power switch when the service plug is not properly installed.
Damage to the hybrid vehicle control ECU may result.
