INTRODUCTION:

Some customers with 2004 -- 2006 model year Prius vehicles may experience a M.I.L. "ON" condition with DTC P0A93 with information code 346 (Inverter Cooling System Performance). The HV coolant pump assembly has been improved to address this condition.

NOTE:
BEFORE applying this TSB, confirm basic system operation per the Repair Manual. If no other HV cooling system problems exist, proceed with TSB repair instructions. Do NOT replace the Inverter w/Converter assembly.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2004 -2005 model year Prius vehicles.
- 2006 model year Prius vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Remove and replace the HV coolant pump assembly (water w/motor & bracket pump assembly).

NOTE:
- An improperly bled coolant system can cause a reoccurrence of DTC P0A93.
- Refer to TIS for proper bleed procedure, 2004 -- 2006 model year Prius Repair Manual, Drivetrain - Hybrid Transmission/Transaxle - "Coolant: Replacement".

Road test the vehicle to confirm the condition is NO longer present.
