Title:
M.I.L. "ON" DTC P1151
Models:
'04 - '05 Prius
May 17, 2005
Introduction
Under certain circumstances, 2004 or 2005 model year Prius vehicles may experience a M.I.L. "ON" condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code P1151, Coolant Heat Storage Tank.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) (SAE term: Power Control Module/PCM) logic has been modified to prevent this condition.
NOTE:
^ Updating the HV ECU as part of Special Service Campaign (SSC) 40D is a required prerequisite to fully correct the P1151 condition. Verify that SSC 40D has been performed and the HV ECU calibration is 899834708601 or higher prior to reprogramming of the Engine Control Module (ECM/PCM).
^ HV ECU reprogramming is necessary only in the event that the HV ECU calibration has not been updated. The P1151 code logic is repaired when the Engine Control Module (ECM/PCM) is reprogrammed.
Applicable Vehicles
^ All 2004 model year Prius vehicles.
^ 2005 model year Prius vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.
