ITEM NO.1: DOME FUSE INSTALLATION DURING PDS

Introduction

The DOME fuse has been removed on the Prius at the assembly plant to reduce parasitic current draw in transit and storage.

Installation Procedure

The removed DOME fuse (15A) is stored in the blank space of the relay block in the engine compartment. The DOME fuse must be reinstalled to the original location during Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) at the dealership as shown.

NOTE

If the vehicle is stored in the dealership for a long period of time after PDS, disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent battery discharge. Refer to the TSB No. PG007-03, "Maintenance for HV and Auxiliary Batteries," for additional information.

ITEM NO.2:

FRONT LICENSE PLATE MOUNTING BRACKET AND LICENSE PLATE INSTALLATION

Introduction

The front license plate bracket and two self-tapping screws are located in the glove box.

Installation Procedure

1. Align holes "A of the mounting bracket with the dimples on the front bumper cover. Mark the location of holes "B" on the front bumper cover.

NOTE

^ Holes "A" are used for installation of the mounting bracket to the bumper cover.

^ Holes "B" are used for installation of the front license plate to the mounting bracket.

2. Drill two relief holes with a diameter of 11 mm (0.43 in.) at the holes "B" marks on the front bumper cover to prevent the license plate retaining bolt end from contacting the cover.

NOTE

Do not drill at the dimples on the front bumper cover.

3. Install the mounting bracket to the front bumper cover by attaching the two self-tapping screws into the dimples.

NOTE

^ Tighten the driver's side self-tapping screw in first, then tighten the passenger's side self4apping screw.

4. Install the front license plate to the mounting bracket using bolts with the following measurements.

Length: 20.0 - 25.0 mm (0.79-0.98 in.)
Diameter: 6.0 mm (0.24 in.)
Pitch: 1.0 mm (0.04 in.)

ITEM NO.3:
REMOVAL OF FRONT EMERGENCY TOWING EYELET AND INSTALLATION OF TOWING EYELET HOLE COVER

Introduction

Please utilize the following procedures to remove the emergency towing eyelets and install the eyelet covers prior to customer delivery.

Removal and Installation Procedure

1. Remove the emergency towing eyelet from the front bumper by turning it counterclockwise.

NOTE

If it is hard to loosen the emergency towing eyelet, use a steel bar.

2. Put the removed emergency towing eyelet into its molded space of the tool box located in the luggage compartment.

3. Install the front emergency towing eyelet hole cover which is stored in the glove box onto the front bumper.

A. Insert the arrow-shaped part "A" of the front emergency towing eyelet hole cover into hole "B" of the front bumper as illustrated.

ITEM NO. 4:
INITIALIZATION OF POWER WINDOW

Introduction

If the battery terminal has been disconnected, the "one-touch open and close" and "jam protection" functions of the driver's door power window will be inoperative due to loss of the driver's door power window position memory stored in the microcomputer. Therefore, initialization of the driver's door power window will be necessary after the battery is reconnected.

Initialization Procedure

1. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position. At this time, the power window switch for the driver's door window should be blinking.

2. Push down and hold the driver's door power window switch to completely open the window.

3. Pull and hold up the driver's door power window switch until the window closes. Continue holding the switch for approximately one second until the switch changes from blinking to a constant illumination.

4. Check for proper operation of the "one-touch open and close" by fully pushing the switch "DOWN" once and fully pulling the switch "UP" once.

NOTE

Jam protection function becomes effective through the above initialization procedure.

ITEM NO.5:
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE OF REAR LOWER SIDE SPOILER

Introduction

The rear lower side spoiler set (right and left rear side spoilers right and left rear bumper side seals right and left No.1 rear spoiler brackets 12 bumper pieces 9 screws 12 grommets clip and 4 outside moulding retainers) is placed in the rear hatch storage box at the assembly plant to avoid damage in transit.

Please install the rear lower side spoiler set on the vehicle at the dealership prior to delivery to the customer using the following procedure.

Installation Procedure

H. With the left rear side spoiler and the No.1 rear spoiler firmly attached tilt the left rear side spoiler slightly and peel off the release sheet.

I. Ensure that the left rear side spoiler is attached and press the adhesive tape areas of the left rear side spoiler to the rear bumper securely to stick the adhesive part of the seal.

ITEM NO.6: FULLY CHARGE 12-VOLT AUXILIARY BATTERY USING AUTOMATIC BATTERY TRICKLE CHARGER (P/N 00002-YA122-01)

Please see TSB No. PG007-03 "Maintenance for HV and Auxiliary Batteries."

ITEM NO.7: ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES B1200, B1207 AND B1271 DURING PDS

Introduction

When the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position for more than 10 seconds with the Dome fuse disconnected, a communication stop is recorded with the Gateway ECU, Multiplex Network ECU, Smart ECU, and/or the Combination Meter. Therefore, these three DTCs, B1200, B1207, or B1271, are memorized in the DTC history (past codes).

Please erase the above DTCs and Freeze Frame Data after the DOME fuse is installed to its original position during Pre-Delivery Service.

Procedure

(With Dome Fuse Installed)

1. Connect Diagnostic Tester to DLC3.

2. Turn ignition to the "ON" position.

3. Accessing the OBD/MOBD function, Check Codes (ALL) to view all stored DTCs.

4. Confirm only DTCs B1200, B1207, or B1271 are the only codes stored in memory.

5. Clear DTCs B1200, B1207 and 1271.

NOTE

^ DTCs B1200, B1207, and B1271 will NOT set the Master Warning Light. If the master warning list is set, other DTCs may be present.

^ If any other codes exist, repair the applicable system according to the diagnostic repair procedure in the Technical Information System (TIS).
