Hood: Service and Repair

OVERHAUL

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. REMOVE HOOD MOULDING ASSY FRONT
2. REMOVE HOOD INSULATOR
a. Using a clip remover, remove the 13 clips and insulator.

HINT: If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.

3. REMOVE HOOD TO RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL
a. Using a clip remover, remove the 10 clips and seal.

HINT: If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.

4. REMOVE HOOD SUPPORT ASSY LH




5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSY
a. Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 claws and remove the cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




b. Remove the 3 bolts and lock.
c. Disconnect the connector and cable.




6. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSY
a. Remove the cable as shown in the illustration.

7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSY
a. Remove the 2 screws and lever.
b. Disengage the cable from the lever.




8. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSY
a. Install the lock with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

b. Adjust the hood lock.




c. Install the cover.
