Replacement

Front Passenger Airbag Assy:






REPLACEMENT

HINT: Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

1. REFER TO SERVICE PRECAUTIONS
2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.2
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.3
6. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSY
7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSY
SST 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021)

8. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LWR
9. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
10. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY
11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSY NO.1
12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL RH




13. DISCONNECT FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY CONNECTOR
a. Disconnect the connectors from the front passenger air-bag assy.

NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSY W/PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSY
15. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSY
16. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.1




17. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY
a. Remove the 2 screws.




b. Release the front side wall of the airbag door from the hook by slightly deflecting it and roll the front passenger airbag assy rearward.
c. Release the rear side wall of the airbag door from the other hook and remove the front passenger airbag assy.

18. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY
19. INSPECT FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY
20. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSY W/PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSY




21. CONNECT FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY CONNECTOR
a. Connect the connectors to the front passenger airbag assy.

NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

22. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY
23. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY
24. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSY
25. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
26. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSY

27. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL





NOTE: When disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the systems shown in the table after the terminal is reconnected.

28. INSPECT HORN BUTTON ASSY
29. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
