Rear Seat Assy (Coupe):

OVERHAUL

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart .

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp surfaces on the seatback frame can cause injuries to your hands.




1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
a. Pull up the 2 front portions of the seat cushion, then remove it.

NOTE: The cushion frame deforms easily. To avoid deforming the seat cushion, place your hands near the hook as shown in the illustration, and then pull up on the seat cushion. Do the same for the other hook.

4. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH
a. Fully fold down the seatback forward.
b. Pull back the spring loaded hammer.
c. While holding back the hammer, pull the seat towards front of the vehicle.




d. Pull the seatback hinge RH and remove the seatback.

5. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the RH side.




6. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
a. Remove the 2 nuts and seatback hinge.

7. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE RH
a. Remove the 2 screws and belt guide

8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK CONTROL BEZEL RH
a. Remove the screw and bezel.




9. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK COVER RH
a. Lift up the seatback cover.
b. Remove the 2 bolts, rear seatback hinge RH and rear seatback hinge center.
c. Remove the rear seatback lock release button.




d. Disengage the back cover side and then turn up the rear seatback carpet.
e. Remove the hog rings and hold up the seatback frame to remove the 2 headrest supports.




f. Disengage the claw and remove the rear seatback stop button grommet.
g. Remove the rear seatback cover together with the seat-back pad from the seatback frame.
h. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover.




10. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK ASSEMBLY RH
a. Remove the 2 bolts.




b. Remove the bolt and seatback lock through the service hole.

11. REMOVE REAR BACK LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
12. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
13. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE CENTER
a. Remove the rear seatback lock release button.
b. Remove the 2 screws and belt guide.

14. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE LH
a. Remove the 2 screws and shoulder belt guide.

15. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK CONTROL BEZEL LH
a. Remove the screw and bezel.




16. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK COVER LH
a. Remove the 2 bolts, rear seatback hinge LH and rear seatback hinge center.
b. Lift up the seatback cover.




c. Disengage the back cover side and then turn up the rear seatback carpet.
d. Remove the hog rings and hold up the seatback frame to remove the 2 headrest supports.
e. Remove the rear seatback cover together with the seat-back pad from the seatback frame.
f. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover.




17. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the 2 bolts.




b. Remove the bolt and seatback lock through the service hole.

18. REMOVE REAR BACK LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
19. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
20. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER
a. Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover.




21. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER
a. Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion pad with new hog rings.

NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

22. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK LOCK ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the seatback lock with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 30 Nm (306 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf)

23. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK LOCK ASSEMBLY RH
a. Install the seatback lock with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 30 Nm (306 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf)

24. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK COVER LH
a. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.

NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

b. Install the seatback pad with cover to the seatback frame.
c. Install the 2 headrest supports.
d. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seatback frame with new hog rings.

NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

e. Install the rear seatback hinge LH and rear seat hinge center with the 2 bolts.

Torque:18 Nm (185 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)

25. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK COVER RH
a. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.

NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

b. Install the seatback pad with cover to the seatback frame.
c. Install the 2 headrest supports and the rear seatback stop button grommet.
d. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seatback frame with new hog rings.

NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

e. Install the rear seatback hinge RH and rear seat hinge center with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 18 Nm (185 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)

26. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
a. Install the hinge with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 18 Nm (185 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)

27. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
28. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH




29. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the seat cushion's 2 front hooks to the rear lock hooks.
b. Attach the seat cushion's rear hook to the seatback.

HINT: Confirm that the seat cushion is firmly installed.
