Front Seat Belt (Coupe):






REPLACEMENT

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY
2. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSY LH
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK HINGE SUB-ASSY LH
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
5. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSY FRONT LH
6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH

CAUTION:
- Removal of the seat belt pretensioner must be started at least 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned OFF and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
- Carefully read the notices for the "pretensioner" in the SRS airbag system section and the front seat outer belt section .




a. Disconnect the pretensioner connector, as shown in the illustration.




b. Remove the seat belt cover.
c. Remove the 4 bolts and outer belt.

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
a. Remove the front seat assy LH.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Remove the bolt and inner belt.

8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
a. Install the inner belt with the bolt.

Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)




9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH

NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

a. Check the amount of inclination required to lock the retractor.
1. When the inclination of the retractor is 15 ° or less, check that the belt can be pulled from the retractor.
When the inclination of the retractor is over 45 °, check that the belt locks.
If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt assy.




b. Install the outer belt with the 4 bolts.

Torque:
7.5 Nm (77 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) for bolt labeled A
42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for bolt labeled B




c. Connect the pretensioner connector, as shown in the illustration.
d. Install the floor anchor cover.
e. Check if the ELR locks.

NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt assy installed.

1. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt assy.

10. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
a. Connect the battery's negative terminal.






NOTE: When disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the systems shown in the table after the terminal is reconnected.

b. Check the SRS warning lamp.
