SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR:

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Be sure to read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing it (Service Precautions).

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (Removal)

3. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (Removal)

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
5. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
6. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER LH (Removal)

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (Removal)





8. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the 2 nuts and sensor.
(b) Disconnect the connector.
