DTC B2784 - Antenna Coil Open / Short

DESCRIPTION

The transponder key coil receives key code signals from key's transponder chip. The coil is built into the transponder key amplifier, which amplifies the key code signals and output the signals to the transponder key ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(c) Turn the tester on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Immobiliser / Data List.
(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the tester.

Immobiliser:





OK:
"NORMAL" (antenna coil is normal) appears on the screen.
NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER)
OK -- REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER)





(a) Disconnect the T5 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the I14 amplifier connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER
