LIGHTING SYSTEM: 41: Body ECU Switch Circuit Diagnosis

DTC 41 - Body ECU Switch Circuit Diagnosis

DESCRIPTION

The following explains when this DTC is output:
This DTC is not output when the switches are operated but fail to make contact. It is only output when the switches are stuck or held on. For example, this code is output when checking the DTC while the switches are on:

System is normal:

1 DTC is output during DTC check with the switches on.
2 DTC is not output during DTC check with the switches off.
Inspect the switches and replace if necessary. If there is no problem with the switches, inspect the wire harness.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK OPERATION
(a) Check that the headlight and fog light systems are normal.
OK:
Normal operation.
Result:





C -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
B -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

HINT: (Testing and Inspection)

NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SWITCH - INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the headlight dimmer switch connector and instrument panel junction block assembly connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
