INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUSE (ECU-IG, AM1)
(a) Remove the ECU-IG and AM1 fuses from the instrument panel J/B.
(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT IGNITION RELAY NO. 1

(a) Remove the IG1 relay from the instrument panel J/B.
(b) Check the resistance of the relay.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE IGNITION RELAY NO. 1
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the 2A J/B connector.
(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B ASSEMBLY - IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the 2G J/B connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the 2F J/B connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
